Clean The Cork Handle

Over time, the cork handle will accumulate dirt. You can safely together with easily clean a cork handle using water in addition to a soap scrub pad. If you have used your rod a lot and never cleaned this handle, you might be astonished at how good the cork will look after you've cleaned the idea.

Help it become a practice to regularly rinse your fly rod with water and wipe it down which includes a cloth. Dirt, grease together with grime can, over time period, degrade it.

Lubricate this Ferrule

... but not with wax! Many people still use a wax or rub that ferrule joint against their nose to be able to transfer some oils to the ferrule. You should never do this with a modern graphite ferrule. Wax etc will attract dirt, and could actually cause damage to your ferrule when people join and un-join the sections of your fly rod. Alternatively, use a commercial product like "Ferrule Lube" to help protect and lubricate ones fly rod's ferrules.

Choosing the "Best Saltwater Fly Rod" is like picking out the best eating utensil. We all break rods before later, so you may as well make this an investment for a life time. Plus, you will regret getting anything less than the products rod that is warranted, especially when casting to and fighting fish within saltwater. All the rod makers i suggest are very good using warranties, and some even offer programs where you will have a new rod in as little as a few days after a break.

Take flight Line for Saltwater

It is not really crucial to possess a specific line made for saltwater, although you will need to be ready for just about all situations. That is why I recommend a fly line using interchangeable tips. This way it is possible to adapt and fish floating line if you want to, or switch to one of many sink tips designed to sink at different premiums. I bought my primary Sage Fly Rod a fair few years ago. It is by far the best rod As i ever purchased! The feeling you get when you have a fish on can be so exhilarating! You can actually feel the fish touch ones hook. I know from experience, I usually catch sixty to 100 fish per year. When I was younger I had a cheaper fly rod i used. I had difficulty casting and feel for any line. I recommend you get a fly rod, reel and line that is weighted perfectly for each other. The reason is that if you don't your timing and accuracy will be off. With the right combination it's going to be like a perfectly tuned algorithm. (Sorry I are a mechanic by deal.)

I found with the cheaper rods they don't enjoy the feel like the Sage rods. With the cheaper rods I was constantly repairing my rod (tips breaking off, threads unraveling, loops dropping off, reel was getting loose on rod) While using the Sage Fly Rod I never had any of those problems. I still use that same rod and its been 10 years!
